Alynne Tiffany - 8 Years Old
Somehow our little Alygator is 8 years old today! It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone already. Aly is growing to be such a beautiful young lady, both inside and out. We are so incredibly proud to be her parents!
Over the past year, Aly finished up 2nd grade in Coronado and started 3rd grade this year! She has certainly been so glad to be back in a classroom full-time. Even though she’s the youngest in her grade, Aly continues to excel at school, and we are always proud of her!
But honestly, what makes me even more proud, is her heart. She has such a big heart and is always so thoughtful and caring to those around her. I remember one particular swim meet, she won every single heat she was in! Wow, were we proud or what! But the thing that made us the most proud was how she chose to share her winning candy prizes with her teammates that didn’t win. It’s things like that constantly. She is always thinking of others and willing to put them before herself. I love seeing her personality grow and develop.
During this year, Aly joined the island’s swim team! The pool is at the end of our block, so this has been an easy thing to add to our routine. She tested it out this summer and loved every minute of it. She has continued with it this fall, really becoming quite the swimmer! She is certainly better than me, ha! She swims three days a week and even then, she can’t get enough of it.
Aly auditioned for and joined a new ballet studio this year, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. She still enjoys ballet (though not as much as swimming). She also auditioned for the company’s Nutcracker performance this year and has been working hard for the big performance next month!
Clearly, Aly is a busy kid, so with these two activities taking up her time, she dropped surf club this Fall. Aly still surfs with Ron on the weekends though!
Aly is still a huge reader. I can’t keep library books and kindle books stocked fast enough for her. We literally check out 40 books a week from the library, and most are for her. And I’m talking lengthy chapter books! But I love it so much, Ron and I are both quite the bookworms as well.
Aly also really loves to draw and can be found at the table coloring most days.
She also loves to play with all of her brothers. She likes to play Legos with Fynn, give piggyback rides to Jackson, desparately wants to cuddle Luca, and thankfully has Anders to cuddle now.
Speaking of Anders, Aly has of course been such a great big sister to him! She is such a pro at this gig now. She is such a great helper.
Dear Aly,
I can’t believe you are 8 years old! It seems like yesterday we were celebrating your first birthday with an alligator themed party! You are such a lovely young lady. You have the biggest heart, always caring for and thinking about others. You are always quick to help out in our family. You care for your little brothers. You are just such a joy to have in our family. I hope you know how loved you are and how grateful we are to have you in our family. You are a true gem, Aly. I’m excited to see what this year holds for you! It’s so fun to watch you transition from little kid things to big kid things (like roller coasters!). Each new year has been such a blessing with you. I love you so very much!
Love,
Mami
