Luca Quinn- Week 19

Luca Quinn is 19 weeks old today!

We are settling into life in SoCal. We’ve spent lots of time at the beach, and Luca loves to nap at the beach! The ocean makes for a wonderful sound machine :)

Luca had his 4 month checkup last week. I guess he finally got the memo that he’s an Arevalo baby, and he has slowed down in his weight gain, he’s 14 lbs even. He still looks so chubby with all his little rolls!

Eating

Luca is slowly starting to wean off some night feedings. I still dreamfeed him every night, and then from there he’s dropped down to one night feeding. Though that “night” feeding is getting closer and closer to morning time, so we’re both getting some solid stretches of sleep now!

Sleep

I think in my last post, I had said Luca wasn’t at all interested in getting out of his swaddle, and then the next day he started breaking out haha. So we’ve been slowly weaning him out of the swaddle. He’s now completely out of it, but he is really struggling with naps currently. He sleeps fine at night without it though! Luca really doesn’t care for the pacifier. He loves to suck on his pointer and middle fingers, but he hasn’t quite figured out that he can use his fingers to soothe himself. I’m hoping the next time I write, it will be to say he’s back to being a napping champ!

Waketime

Luca is so smiley and loves to laugh. We never did get little baby giggles with Jackson, so it’s been a long time since we’ve heard such little laughs, and I am absolutely loving it! He is so ticklish, especially his neck. He also really loves Fynn and laughs at him often!

We constantly say that Luca is Fynn 2.0; he reminds us so much of Fynn!

Luca tolerates tummy time now, but still has no interest in rolling over yet.

He does not like to be left alone at all, but fortunately, there are so many in our house who are eager to play with him and keep him company!
