Alynne Tiffany- Week 11
The Alygator is now 11 weeks!
Today was the first day that Ron and I have both been back to work. Time to start our new normal! I am so thankful that God eased us into this! I’m glad that I had my time off with Aly, and then Ron was able to spend a month with her. It was really great for both of us. And I have to brag a little- Ron took care of Aly every day while I was at work for a whole month, and he is SUCH an awesome dad. I continue to learn so much from him. I have no doubt that he will continue to be an excellent father to Aly and our other children. We are so blessed to have him. I also realized today that the way our schedules are, each of us will only be away from Alynne 2 days a week working (we each are working some from home). And Aly will either be with one of us, or both of us six days a week! And we are super grateful that she’ll get to spend Fridays with Aunt Shannon =] What a blessing. I think this is pretty unheard of living in Manhattan!
Feeding
Aly still gets up twice at night to eat. Those times have actually fluctuated a lot lately. Just when they start getting later in the night, and I think we might be getting close to dropping one, she goes and wakes up early the next night! Oh and last night, she ate three times, boo!
During the day, she has started to stretch a little longer between feedings. She currently eats about 3.5-4 oz during a day feeding, and 3 oz at night (When Ron’s feeding her of course!)
She still has been exclusively breastfed, and I am so happy that I am able to keep it up with working full time and everything else! =]
Sleeping
Her naps during the day have become a lot more consistent. She stays awake for an hour almost on the dot and then is ready to nap. Her first three naps are usually between 1-1.5 hours, and then she takes a 45 and 30 min nap in the evening. Plus another 11 hours at night…Needless to say, our little girl loves to sleep (She got it from her mama!)
Temperament
Alynne is the happiest in the mornings. Every morning (after eating of course!), she has the biggest grin on her face. She loves to lay in bed with mommy and daddy and play. She is such a happy girl.
She started this new thing where she gets excited to see me when I get home from work. When she sees me, her face lights up in a big grin and sweet coos. It’s the best feeling ever.
Also, this week, she has started trying to get our attention. When she wants us to pay attention to her, she starts cooing and making noises until we give her that attention, and then she gives that playful grin we love so much. How can we resist?!
Aly loves to sit up more than ever these days. One day, I leaned her against the arm of the couch, while I was sitting next to her. I watched her rear back and then fling herself forward in an effort to sit up. Only, she overshot it and ended up face planting in the couch haha.
Physical
Still rockin the 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.
