Tot School- January 2015 (1 Year, 2 Months Old)

With us moving, a couple sicknesses, and this being my busiest work month, I was quite surprised that we actually were able to do most of these activities.

5 Little Snowmen
5 Little Snowmen riding on a sled,
One fell off and bumped his head.
Frosty called the doctor and the doctor said,
“No more snowmen riding on the sled!”

5 Little Snowmen was our favorite =]

Math Tuesdays

-Sort and compare styrofoam balls
-Focus on the circle shape (circle bin)

We did the circle bin, which Aly enjoyed, but I never had time to get styrofoam

Art Wednesdays

-Snowflake handprints
-W worksheet
-Construction paper painting
-Tape snowflakes

We did all of these but the snowflake handprints.  Alynne is already getting better at art.  She can hold the brush in her hand, and she tries to eat the paint less ;)
Our favorite activity was actually the construction paper painting.  She was really fascinated by being able to stick her hand in a bowl of water.

Science/sensory Thursdays

-Cloud dough
-Felt snowman
-Winter sensory bin
-Winter snow walk
-W is for water play!

Again, sensory activities are our favorite right now.
We loved the cloud dough! It was super easy to make, and Alynne loved squishing it and pouring handfuls on herself.
The felt snowman was a hit and stayed up all month. At first she tried to take the snow body off the wall too, but she learned quickly which parts were removable.  She also loved to wear the scarf herself.
We got to take a winter snow walk last week when the "blizzard" hit.  This was the first time Alynne got to play in snow and she liked it! She also enjoyed sledding with me down a pretty big hill! Everyone said she was so fearless! Alynne also enjoys watching the snow fall from our windows; she is always mesmerized by it.

The water play activity was a huge hit. Alynne sat and played with the water for 30 minutes before I pried her away from it.  She was obsessed with the ice cubes I put in there.  She would fish them out and put them in her scoop toy, dump them back in, and repeat.  We also experimented with colored bath fizzies.

nd here are photos from this month's activities!
