Alynne Tiffany- Week 14

14 Weeks Old

Today Alynne is 14 weeks old! Last Thursday she turned 3 months old, wow!
Saturday as I was laying in bed that night, I was just reflecting on how perfect the day was.  Nothing crazy happened.  In fact, Ron worked, I did laundry and went grocery shopping, we cleaned the apartment- nothing exciting.  But there was just beauty in the simplicity of our day and the joy I get spending the day with him and Aly.  Our little strolls to Barnes & Noble, Aly sitting in her bumbo next to me while I scrubbed down the bathroom, tag teaming dinner and playing with Aly- I love it all.  Having our daughter here does not disrupt our lives, it enhances it.  It is such a joy that we get to share our lives and little every day rituals with her.  We love exploring the city with her alongside us, snuggling with her in the mornings, and seeing the love Ron has for her and vice versa is just inexplicable.  It fills my heart to the fullest.  I never want to take a single moment for granted.  Though we may be sleep-deprived, these are some of the best days of my life.  Children really are such a blessing from God!

Feeding

She has started going slightly longer stretches during the day more consistently (about every 2.5-3 hours) and eats once during the night.

Sleeping
Well, things aren’t much better in the nighttime sleep department! She is still waking up 2-3 times during the night apart from eating.  She usually just wants her paci, but it’s still tiring getting up so much! We may soon be trying to get her to fall back asleep on her own without the paci if she loses it during the night, because this has been going on for about two weeks now, and we are just so tired!!
Also, this week Alynne dropped her last nap of the day, bringing naps down to 4 a day! She still gets about the same amount of sleep (16 hours!), but now she goes down easier at bedtime!
This weekend we attempted to start weaning her from her swaddle.  We did it for 2.5 days and decided she wasn’t ready.  She would end up waking up about 30-45 mins into every nap.  So we will try again in a couple weeks!

Wake Time
Aly stays awake for about 1-1.5 hours at a time, usually closer to one hour.  We’re trying to extend her wake times a bit! She really enjoys playing in front of the mirror, reading stories, telling stories, and dancing. She has started talking up a storm this last week.
