Alynne Tiffany- Week 5
What a week! Aly turned one month last Friday! My how the time flies. I have been extra enjoying being a mom this week. Maybe it's because we're starting to get the hang of things now (sort of). Or maybe it's because I see how quickly she's growing and I just know that before I know it, she won't want to snuggle all day long but will be running around! So I'm just soaking in this sweet time with my baby girl.
On Sunday we had Alynne's dedication. This was also her first time at church. It was a very special time for us. We are so grateful for our church family, and especially our Pastor Rich for being a part of it! Ron's family came to the service as well. Ron was dedicated as a baby, so it was very neat for Ron's parents to be able to witness their grandchild being dedicated too. I hope that one day we will see our grandchildren raised up in a loving Christian environment too. We pray every night for Aly's salvation and that we may raise her in a way that is pleasing to the Lord.
We got to celebrate Christmas with Ron's family on Sunday as well. It was great getting to spend time with his aunts and parents! Aly is so loved!!
Monday was our trip to Oklahoma. We spent all day doing laundry, cleaning, and packing. Ron and I usually pack very light when traveling. That is no longer the case! Aly does not travel lightly! And somehow, amidst the chaos, I forgot to pack pants for myself!! I mean, hey, at least I got all of Alynne and Ron's stuff here. Am I officially inducted into the mommy club now?
So it is super stressful traveling with a baby. Goodness. And Aly was even a perfect angel! It was just stressful trying to haul everything around. We got to Newark airport and it was like a sauna. We were dripping in sweat and had to strip Aly down. So much for keeping her strapped to us the whole time! Once we finally got on the plane, it was a little better. She was a little fussy while we were sitting there, so we were fearful that it would be a long flight. But thankfully, she was so great. She never cried once! Super baby.
We've spent a couple days in OK now and will be here until the 4th! Jamy picked us up from the airport. It's always so wonderful to see my bestie, and I'm so happy Aly finally got to meet her Aunt Jemima! hehe.
Aly has met so many new people already! Aunts, cousins, and more! We've loved every minute of all this family time. We spent Christmas Eve with my dad and brother. It was a wonderful time! And today was spent at my mom's house with LOTS of family. What a fun day! Aly is so loved- I don't think I've gotten to hold her except to feed her haha.
Feeding
Last week we introduced a bottle to her for the first time! She did so great. So Ron has been feeding her at the 1:30am feeding, about every other night (I'm also stock piling some milk on the other nights!) We're pretty much at the same point with her eating intervals. There is still the occasional night where she only gets up twice to eat instead of three times.
Sleeping
Thank goodness she went back to being good sleeping during the night! We had some long/unusual days Sat-Mon, so her naps were all off during the day. She just doesn't do real well when her schedule is disrupted. I mean I guess she's really used to sleeping in her crib and having to nap in a carseat or people's arms doesn't bode so well. However, even when I say that she doesn't do real well, I just mean that she's not sleeping. She still doesn't cry or get fussy. What a good baby.
Temperament
Aly loves to stare at lights. When I get her up in the mornings, I stick her in the crook of the couch while I get ready and she loves to just sit and stare at the light.
She is getting more and more alert every day. We love to sing to her and read stories to her. My favorite story to read to her right now is Urban Babies Wear Black =]
Physical
My wittle baby outgrew her newborn diapers and clothes this week!! Ahhh! She's still super tiny, buuuut it's hard to believe she's growing up so quickly!

Schedule
Alynne sticks to her eating schedule to a T. Her naps are starting to get more consistent (minus the crazy days). She takes two really long naps in the morning, and then short naps throughout the afternoon.
