The library had so many good Valentine's books!  Alynne really enjoys having new books around the house and usually chooses our library books to read first.  Goose Needs a Hug and Llama Llama I Love You were her favorites! I disliked My Fuzzy Valentine, it annoyed me that the Sesame Street characters speak in 3rd person, haha.

Music

“If You’re Happy and You Know It”
“Jesus Loves Me”
“I’ve Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My Heart”

Math

-Sort and compare felt hearts
-Focus on the heart shape

Art

-Mix red and white to make pink and color heart coloring page http://www.first-school.ws/t/alphabet/coloring-pages/bible_zb/heart_b.htm
-Shredded tissue paper heart valentine
-Valentines scribbles http://www.theeducatorsspinonit.com/2012/02/hands-on-activities-for-your-baby-to.html
-Heart cookie cutter art http://www.theeducatorsspinonit.com/2012/02/hands-on-activities-for-your-baby-to.html

We did all of these activities except for the heart cookie cutter one because I never found any!  Alynne enjoyed the activities.  This month was the first time she has colored, and she has asked me to color several times this month! She loved the the Tissue paper heart and enjoyed being sticky ;)

Science/sensory

-Valentine Sensory bin (felt hearts, heart cookie cutters, rice)
-Valentine’s Soup http://www.funathomewithkids.com/2014/01/toddler-sensory-play-valentines-day-soup.html
-H sensory bin

Valentine's Soup was a huge success.  She played for 30 minutes straight before ever straying away from the bowl.  I definitely think water play is her favorite activity these days.  She also enjoyed the sensory bin!

Here is our main tot school wall! I was so pleased with how this turned out, and Alynne loves helping me change the days each morning!

This is the area where Aly's monthly artwork is now displayed!

This dry erase/magnet board has been a huge hit! I showed Alynne how to use magnets once and she was hooked! She plays with them every day!
